Alexander was a wonderful tour guide. Our personal tour was designed to see locations that were of interest due to connections in our ancestry. He arrived promptly at 9 and off we went to our first location Glamis Castle. He provided us with information along the route and ensured that we were assisted into the Castle and waited patiently while we took our time on a self guided tour. He also was quite the photographer and ensured that we had beautiful photos standing outside the Castle. Next stop was Laurencekirk, birthplace of my daughter’s great-grandmother. We had a photo of the family when she was a little girl and Alexander was instrumental in finding the location despite the fact that the Gasworks buildings were no longer there. It was very much appreciated. We went off to St. Andrews and a visit to the Old Course. It was a beautiful day and although we unfortunately could not eat at the Tom Morris restaurant as hoped, he did get permission that we could go on the balcony to have a few pics taken and then took us to another fabulous restaurant in St Andrews which we greatly enjoyed. Back to St. Andrews to have our pictures taken on the historical bridge on the 18th hole and then back to Edinburgh.
