Bath Abbey is a stunning example of Perpendicular Gothic architecture, located in the heart of the city of Bath. It is a parish church of the Church of England, and was originally founded as a Benedictine monastery in the 7th century. The abbey has undergone many transformations and changes over the centuries, but it has remained a place of Christian worship throughout.

The abbey’s most iconic feature is its west front, which is decorated with hundreds of intricate carvings. The interior of the abbey is just as impressive, with its soaring ceilings, stained glass windows, and elaborate fan vaulting. The abbey also houses a number of important historical artefacts, including the tomb of King Edgar the Peaceful, and the font in which Jane Austen was baptised.

The tower stands 160 feet (49 meters) tall and the abbey can accommodate up to 1,200 people for services.

In addition to its religious significance, Bath Abbey is also a popular tourist destination. Visitors can take guided tours of the abbey, or simply wander around and admire its architecture. The abbey also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including concerts, recitals, and exhibitions.

The abbey has been featured in a number of films and television shows, including “The Duchess” and “The Crown.
