Waiting for us in his traditional kilt attire, Alan greeted the 4 of us and we had a discussion about what we could accomplish in the smaller amount of time we had for the day. Our main goal, being avid golfers, was to see St. Andrews. Alan thought that perhaps we only had time to see the city of Edinburgh, but then looked at his watch and calculated that we could actually do it. So we quickly headed out into the country, and we made it to the course for pictures, a stop in the pro shop and a drive through the picturesque town.
As I had planned this excursion with Sandy of Experienced Tours well over a year, our expectations and excitement to see St. Andrews was at the very top of our excursion list on this 15-day cruise. Sandy and Alan did not disappoint. In fact, on the way back to the ship we still had a little bit of time to drive around Edinburgh and had a “wee” bit of whiskey back at the port!
We highly recommend Sandy and his company for any excursions in the Edinburgh area. We will always be grateful for the amazing day they provided us.
