Bow Fiddle Rock, so called as it resembles the tip of a fiddler’s bow, is a naturally-formed rock arch that sits right on the coast in the north east of Scotland. A wonderful stop for photography enthusiasts in particular while offering a gentle hike to see one of Scotland’s most beloved sea structures.

Found in a picturesque and secluded bay, Bow Fiddle Rock could be considered a hidden-gem, especially as the east coast of Scotland is sometimes overshadowed by the dramatic west. However, fascinating geological structures like this are dotted along Scotland’s eastern shores and make for fantastic scenic stops between the numerous historic and cultural sites.

Sitting on the coast between Inverness and Aberdeen, Bow Fiddle Rock is and easy drive from either city. The wonderful town of Cullen is just nearby, famous for one of Scotland’s national dishes – Cullen Skink – a hearty chowder using smoked fish which is typical of the area. These are easily incorporated into most trips venturing out of the Inverness and Royal Deeside areas.
