One of the most spectacular waterfalls in Scotland, located in Assynt Sutherland. Otherwise known as “Loch na Gainmhich Waterfall” it drops dramatically 50 feet into the gorge below. It is a lesser known spot and can be easily missed when in the north west highlands or on the NC500.

It gets the name from the tale of a local huntsman. While out hunting deer in the misty highlands he lost his footing and plummeted to his death. It is said his mother, a widow found him the following day. She was so heartbroken that she threw herself off the same spot. It is said that he haunting wails were heard across the highlands.
