Edinburgh Departure
Your day begins with collection from your hotel, accommodation or preferred location in Edinburgh. Leaving the city behind, we quickly enter Scotland’s beautiful countryside while your guide introduces Scotland’s fascinating history, culture and traditions.
The Kelpies
Our first stop is Scotland’s largest equine sculptures. Standing 30 metres high, The Kelpies celebrate the powerful working horses that helped build modern Scotland while also representing the mythical water spirits of Scottish folklore.
Stirling Castle & Wallace Country
As we travel north you’ll enjoy outstanding views of Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most important royal fortresses. Sitting proudly atop volcanic rock, the castle witnessed the childhood of Mary Queen of Scots and overlooks the landscape where William Wallace and Robert the Bruce fought for Scottish independence.
Highland Cattle Encounter
No Highland adventure would be complete without meeting Scotland’s iconic Highland Cattle. Stopping at Highland Callander, you’ll meet these iconic animals with their distinctive shaggy coats and impressive horns making them one of Scotland’s most photographed animals.
Rannoch Moor
Stretching across almost 50 square miles, Rannoch Moor is one of Europe’s last great wildernesses. This vast expanse of peat bog, lochs and rugged beauty feels wonderfully remote and has featured in numerous films including Skyfall and Harry Potter. Few visitors realise this extraordinary landscape sits over an ancient geological fault line that shaped much of the Highlands.
Glencoe
The highlight of your day is undoubtedly Glencoe.
Towering mountains rise dramatically from the valley floor, creating one of Scotland’s most recognisable landscapes. Formed by volcanic activity over 400 million years ago before being carved by glaciers, Glencoe combines extraordinary natural beauty with one of Scotland’s most moving stories.
Your guide will bring to life the tragic events of the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe, when members of Clan MacDonald were betrayed by government soldiers after offering them Highland hospitality. The story remains one of Scotland’s defining historical events and gives the glen its powerful atmosphere.
We’ll visit several of Glencoe’s most spectacular viewpoints, including the famous Three Sisters, Buachaille Etive Mòr and the Meeting of Three Waters, with opportunities for short walks, stunning photography and plenty of time to simply absorb the magnificent scenery.
Lunch in the Highlands
Stop at the delightful Clachaig Inn at the bottom of Glencoe. This traditional tavern offers great Scottish and international options with stunning views over Glencoe. On a nice day, soak up the dramatic view from their outside seating.
Glencoe Visitor Centre & Turf House
Discover how people survived in this harsh but beautiful landscape for centuries. The recreated 17th-century Turf House offers a fascinating insight into traditional Highland life before the Clearances, while the visitor centre explains the area’s remarkable geology, wildlife and history.
Return via Highland Perthshire
Our scenic return journey takes us through Highland Perthshire, passing forests, rivers and charming villages before crossing the magnificent UNESCO-listed Forth Bridges as we arrive back in Edinburgh during the early evening.

Absolutely! Almost all of the places we visit have toilets / restrooms. Because this is a private tour, we can stop when you need us to.
For day tours the final balance (plus any extras like admission tickets) is due 24 hours before the tour.
For multi-day tours the final balance is due 30 days before the tour.
Our climate is famous for being unpredictable. We provide umbrellas in our vans but if the weather isn’t working in our favour, just wait 5 minutes and it will change! Please don’t rely on the forecast either, it is invariably wrong!
We recommend that you bring a waterproof jacket and shoes suitable for walking over rough ground / cobbles, especially if visiting rural locations! Other than that, just bring yourself!
Absolutely! Please contact us if you’d like to make an amendment to one of our suggested itineraries or would like a customised tour.
Yes, we can end the tour in a different location from the start point. Please let us know if this is what you need. For locations further than 50 miles from the start point there maybe a charge.
We use Mercedes-Benz V Class minivans. They are modern, luxurious and safe vehicles with a Euro N-Cap rating of 5 stars. They come with privacy glass, a panoramic sunroof, reclining leather seats, dual-zone air conditioning and unlimited high-speed WiFi. Learn more about our vehicles.
Our Mercedes V Class minivans come in two configurations, a 6 passenger version and a 7 passenger version.
Yes, we can meet you at the airport and have plenty of space for baggage.
Yes, most of our tours are suitable for cruise ship shore excursions and we’ll meet you at the quayside.
Yes, our vehicle can accommodate most mobility scoters and wheelchairs. They normally require two people to lift in and out of the vehicle so one of your party will be needed to help. Note that if there is a scooter then the baggage space is limited.
Support animals are welcome onboard however we typically ask for them to stay on the floor of the vehicle.
The total price of your tour includes your tour guide, use of our luxury minivans, the fuel, tolls and parking charges and insurances. Entrance to attractions etc is on top but we can manage that for you and add it to the invoice.
Yes, there are a range of different options on each trip, from a historic tavern to a quaint cafe or bakery. We’ll make reservations to ensure that our lunch stop is quick and tasty!

No, all of our tours are private so your party will be the only people on the tour.
Yes, we will guide you through attractions and monuments as part of our service. This is not possible at The Royal Yacht Britannia or Palace of Holyroodhouse.
