KEY SIGHTS ON THIS TOUR…

We’ll pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in Edinburgh in one of our premium minivans and whisk you comfortably to Port Edgar Marina nestled under the Forth Road Bridge on the banks of the Firth of Forth just outside Edinburgh.

Boarding the luxury sailing catamaran ‘Edinburgh Castle’ you’ll be introduced to your skipper for the 4 hour voyage. Departing the port the sails will be hoisted and you’ll experience the majestic experience of sailing across the water without the need of an engine.

As you sail out under the Forth bridges marvel at the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, an engineering masterpiece completed in 1890 and considered to be one of the engineering wonders of the world. It is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Sailing underneath as trains travel overhead is an experience like no other.

If the wind and tide permit it is possible to see Inchcolm Island which has an interesting history including connections to early Christianity, Viking raids and the Roman fleet.

If you would like (and conditions allow) you are welcome to take the helm and skipper the boat under the guidance of the skipper. Learn about the rigging, control the direction of travel and experience how to tack and navigate through the wind, sea and other marine traffic.

Edinburgh Castle
The Cata Lagoon 380 premium catamaran offers comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy the voyage. Built by the iconic French shipbuilder, Lagoon is synonymous with luxurious and well appointed sailing catamarans. Catermarans are known to have much better sea keeping capabilities allowing you to have a much smoother trip across the water. As you have private use of the boat you can stretch out and relax on one of the lounge areas or ride ‘up front’ on one of her two bows.

Tea, Coffee and bottled water are served onboard the boat but a range of catering options are available, just ask!

At the end of the trip you’ll be met at the quayside for your return trip to Edinburgh, dropped off at your hotel or another Edinburgh location of your choice.

Fantastic day with Michael! Great views of Loch Lamond. A nice hike and lunch there as well. Michael was really informative about Sterling Castle and all of Glasgow. I would highly recommend this tour and Michael.
