Embark on a private day tour from Glasgow to St Andrews and experience the best of Scotland’s history, culture, and coastline. Wander the cobbled streets of Culross, a perfectly preserved 17th-century village. Explore Falkland, once a royal retreat, and continue to the highlight of the day; St Andrews, the historic university town of St Andrews, the world-renowned “Home of Golf.” Spend time soaking up the historic atmosphere with a full tour of the town before some optional free time to explore.
On our return trip we’ll call at Anstruther, a charming seaside town famous for its harbour and fresh seafood. Towards the end of our tour we’ll stop to marvel at the stunning Kelpies sculptures before returning to Glasgow.

Our first stop today is the beautifully preserved 17th-century village of Culross. With its cobbled streets and ochre-coloured cottages, Culross feels like stepping into the past. Fans of Outlander will recognise it as one of the show’s most iconic filming locations. Wander the lanes, visit Culross Palace, and soak in the authentic historic atmosphere.
Falkland Village & Palace
Continue to Falkland, a picturesque royal village once favoured by the Stuart monarchs. Explore Falkland Palace, a Renaissance masterpiece of the Scottish Stuart Dynasty, surrounded by tranquil gardens. The village itself offers quaint tearooms, charming shops, and rich connections to Scotland’s regal past. Outlander fans will recognise Falkland as the setting for 1940’s Inverness.
St Andrews
The destination of St Andrews awaits, a town steeped in history and world-famous as the “Home of Golf.” As we drive from Eden Bridge, the spires of St Andrews come into sight. Visit the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral, explore the university’s medieval quarters, and admire views across the Old Course. Whether you’re drawn by golf, history, or coastal beauty, St Andrews offers something for everyone.
St Andrews blends ancient history, coastal beauty, and vibrant culture. Known worldwide as the “Home of Golf,” the town attracts golf enthusiasts eager to see where it all began; the legendary Old Course and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club.
Beyond golf, St Andrews offers rich heritage. Wander the impressive ruins of St Andrews Cathedral and St Andrews Castle, offering breathtaking views over the North Sea. The University of St Andrews, one of the oldest in the world, gives the town a lively, youthful atmosphere. West Sands Beach famously featured in Chariots of Fire and explore the town’s boutique shops, cosy cafés, and traditional pubs.
On our tour today your guide will give you a comprehensive tour of the town, offering free time to explore or visit the R&A pro shop. We’ll enjoy lunch here overlooking the Old Course.

Anstruther
After leaving St Andrews we’ll make the short journey south to the fishing village of Anstruther, one of the East Neuk of Fife’s prettiest harbours and a delightful coastal stop. Enjoy a stroll along the waterfront and soak up Anstruther’s maritime heritage and relaxed pace.
The Kelpies
On our way back to Glasgow we’ll call at The Kelpies, the towering 30-metre steel horse-head sculptures near Falkirk. These awe-inspiring creations celebrate Scotland’s industrial heritage and legendary folklore. Enjoy time to capture memorable photos of these magnificent landmarks.

Absolutely! Almost all of the places we visit have toilets / restrooms. Because this is a private tour, we can stop when you need us to.
For day tours the final balance (plus any extras like admission tickets) is due 24 hours before the tour.
For multi-day tours the final balance is due 30 days before the tour.
Our climate is famous for being unpredictable. We provide umbrellas in our vans but if the weather isn’t working in our favour, just wait 5 minutes and it will change! Please don’t rely on the forecast either, it is invariably wrong!
We recommend that you bring a waterproof jacket and shoes suitable for walking over rough ground / cobbles, especially if visiting rural locations! Other than that, just bring yourself!
Absolutely! Please contact us if you’d like to make an amendment to one of our suggested itineraries or would like a customised tour.
Yes, we can end the tour in a different location from the start point. Please let us know if this is what you need. For locations further than 100 miles from the start point there maybe a charge.
We use Mercedes-Benz V Class minivans. They are modern, luxurious and safe vehicles with a Euro N-Cap rating of 5 stars. They come with privacy glass, a panoramic sunroof, reclining leather seats, dual-zone air conditioning and unlimited high-speed WiFi. Learn more about our vehicles.
Our Mercedes V Class minivans come in two configurations, a 6 passenger version and a 7 passenger version.
Yes, we can meet you at the airport and have plenty of space for baggage.
Yes, most of our tours are suitable for cruise ship shore excursions and we’ll meet you at the quayside.
Yes, our vehicle can accommodate most mobility scoters and wheelchairs. They normally require two people to lift in and out of the vehicle so one of your party will be needed to help. Note that if there is a scooter then the baggage space is limited.
Support animals are welcome onboard however we typically ask for them to stay on the floor of the vehicle.
The total price of your tour includes your tour guide, use of our luxury minivans, the fuel, tolls and parking charges and insurances. Entrance to attractions etc is on top but we can manage that for you and add it to the invoice.
Yes, there are a range of different options on each trip, from a historic tavern to a quaint cafe or bakery. We’ll make reservations to ensure that our lunch stop is quick and tasty!

No, all of our tours are private so your party will be the only people on the tour.
Yes, we will guide you through attractions and monuments as part of our service. This is not possible at The Royal Yacht Britannia or Palace of Holyroodhouse.
