Ardbeg Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the Isle of Islay in the Inner Hebrides islands. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky.

Ardbeg Distillery was founded in 1798, and began commercial production in 1815. Like most Scottish distilleries, for most of its history its whisky was produced for use in blended whisky, rather than as a single malt. However, in the late 1970s, Ardbeg began to release single malt whiskies, and quickly gained a cult following for its smoky, peaty flavour.

Ardbeg whisky is made using heavily peated barley, which is dried over a peat fire. This gives the whisky its characteristic smoky flavour. Ardbeg whisky is also aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, which gives it a complex profile.

In addition to its core range, Ardbeg also releases a number of limited edition whiskies each year. These whiskies are often aged in different types of casks, or finished with different types of wood, which gives them unique flavour profiles. They play a big roll in the Feis Ile whisky festival that is held on Islay every June.

Ardbeg Distillery is a popular tourist destination, and offers tours and tastings throughout the year. The distillery is also home to the Ardbeg Committee, a group of Ardbeg fans who have the opportunity to taste and provide feedback on new whiskies from the distillery.
