Rosebank Distillery

Known as ‘The King of the Lowlands’, Rosebank is an unusual urban distillery situated in Falkirk with a rich history dating back to 1840. Founded by local  wine merchant James Rankine, Rosebank quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality Lowland single malt whisky. Its unique triple distillation process, a rarity among Lowland distilleries, contributed to its distinctive character.

Though Rosebank faced closures and changes in ownership throughout its 180 year history, including periods under the control of major conglomerates, its legacy has endured. Like the town around it, the distillery has been revived and restored to provide not only a new lease of life producing whisky, but a fantastic visitor experience.

Now under the ownership of Ian Macleod Distillers, the distillery has undergone a meticulous restoration, preserving its historic charm while incorporating modern techniques. Visitors can now embark on guided tours, exploring the production process and sampling the exquisite Rosebank whisky.
