Wolfburn Distillery
Wolfburn Distillery is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery located near Thurso, Caithness and holds the title of the most northerly distillery on the mainland.
It boasts a fascinating history, having been originally founded in 1821 by William Smith. However, production ceased in the 1860s. In 2013, a new Wolfburn distillery was built near the site of the original, drawing water from the same Wolf Burn.
This modern distillery produces a range of award-winning whisky, known for their smooth and delicate character. They utilise traditional methods, including long fermentation periods and a focus on natural processes. Wolfburn has quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality single malt, attracting whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
The distillery’s commitment to sustainability and its connection to the local Caithness region further enhance its appeal. Wolfburn offers a northerly taste of the Scottish Highlands, capturing the essence of this rugged and beautiful coastal landscape in every bottle.
