STAYCATION TOUR FAQS
Are attractions open?
This is an ever evolving story and we’ll update this page as and when things change, but at the moment you should assume all indoor attractions, monuments and castles remain closed. This is certainly the case for all National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland indoor locations. That doesn’t mean we can’t visit them, just that we can’t go inside.
I am staying outside Edinburgh
No problem, we can travel to your location and pick you up. This can be done up to an approximate 40 mile radius from Edinburgh. See a map of the radius.
Will there be other people on the tour
No. We only offer private tours which means that you will be the only group in the van.
What precautions have you taken against Coronavirus?
We’ve made a number of changes to our operations as a result of coronavirus and we have passed the government ‘Good to Go’ checklist. Read more here.
How much does a staycation tour cost?
We’ve introduced special pricing for staycation tours. This pricing is valid until further notice but is subject to change.
- Half day tour £150
(total group price, 4 hours – as low as £25 per person)
- Full day tour £300
(total group price, 8 hours – as low as £50 per person)
- Loch Ness & The Highlands £450
(total group price, 12 hours – as low as £75 per person)
That looks a lot cheaper than normal, is it the normal Experienced Tours service?
Yes, everything we promise from our service level you will get, including kilt-wearing tour guide, premium Mercedes minivans and wifi. In addition we provide masks and gloves for all passengers should they wish it. We have temporarily withdrawn complimentary bottled water to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus.
Where can we eat on tour?
Like attractions, this is an evolving story. Many restaurants and eateries remain closed even though they can now open. If you’d rather have take away food in the van this is absolutely fine.
Are toilets available on tour?
At the moment all public toilets remain closed and toilets in restaurants and many attractions are also closed. However we know which toilets are open and can plan around this.
How many people can be in our group
We can welcome up to 6 guests per van
I need to change my tour dates at short notice
No problem, we only ask for a deposit payment at the time of booking (20%) and if you need to change your dates the deposit can be carried forward until July 2022.
